Absurd News for 2010
Ok, so we’ve now had a full year of theabsurd online, and May will see the 2nd birthday as far as our events are concerned - things couldn’t be better!
You are now witnessing the beginnings of our 2010 online edition – we’ll upload new content as-and-when we happen upon, or root out, items of wonder for your perusal. We’ve already got an assortment of new writers on-board from across north Wales including the Cob Records Bangor team who’ll be talking music, gigs and anything else that’s caught their interest each month, Iliff Simey will be walking us through the seasons of a native Welsh woodland, and Elin Angharad will be bringing us regular Welsh language snippets from across the region.
Events
On top of all of that our events schedule has gone into overdrive for 2010. TheAbsurd will be working with the International Pavilion in Llangollen on a number of different festivals throughout the year, and Editor, Sophie McKeand, is the Pavilion Poet for 2010. There’s also the first ever ‘Absurd Festival’ being held in Yr Wyddgrug at Clywd Theatre Cymru on 6th November with the line-up being finalised as we speak! More information about the changes to our events schedules, and the festivals is over on the events page – go check it out…
Submissions
We’re still always looking for submissions from artists, musicians, poets, writers and photographers for our thoughts section. If you are an artists who is from, or lives in, north Wales and have work that you would like to be considered to be showcased on theabsurd.co.uk please email sophie with all things wordy, and andy with all things arty. We still do all of this lovely stuff out of the goodness of our hearts so we're not able to pay anything, but think of that warm feeling you will get when you share your work with our many devoted Absurd readers - who knows what might come of it?
Copyright?
We’ve changed our copyright rules – mainly because we don’t want to impose our lefty views upon everyone. We don’t believe art should be owned, so all work by theAbsurd remains copyleft, that means you can use it, copy it, re-issue it whenever and wherever you want as long as it’s for non-commercial purposes – please speak to us if you wish to use our work for commercial purposes.
However, all other work published on this site including articles, photographs, music and anything else, is copyright to the artist named unless otherwise stated – you must ask their permission before reproducing it. If you’re not sure about what this means then look it up.
