History
Born: bangor 1969
1969 - 1979: Lived in Dolwyddelan nr Betws y Coed
1979 - 1989: Moved to Betws y Coed got involved in my prefered sport of skiing.
1985 - 1996: Competed in skiing from regional level up to international and British team level. Many accolades - too many to mention...
1996 - 2000: Taught skiing and snowboarding (plus other outdoor activities) and worked for the respective governing bodies, including being british snowboard team manager for a year.
1995 - present day: Music took over, pulled me away from my skiing which subsequently changed to snowboarding. I am now involved in music, bands, the arts, and organising events that incorporate all of the above.
As well as running S.N.O.G. Roger has been involved in many musical projects. One of which is the band Electric Sunroof.

On himself:
I usually prefer to view myself from a distance because I look better that way; but I'm generally a bit of a renegade, not a negative activist but someone who can see where there is a gap or a need, though I don't always know what that is exactly until I start doing something or until something is done (ie: an event), but I do it anyway. I try to trust my instincts and follow my intuition, they are usually right - not always...
Others usually view me through beer goggles - being involved with organising events, music, bands and also performing so much, kind of creates a strange life-style and social life. If I am to be honest then I don’t know if I always like it, but it's what I can and do, do. But as far as other people’s interaction with me then maybe it’s a slightly distorted impression of what I’am really like. Very few people get to see that, which is probably just as well, as I am actually six-foot-eight and really obese in real life. Amazing the effect booze can have eh!
On life:
Life is a bag of worms, it is a conundrum, it is a sea, an ocean, a wave a storm, but most of all it is a force. You can fight it, live it, work it, but ultimately it'll always win. But if you believe in life alone that may be what you end up being. There are a great many things out there and I just don’t mean in the physical realms. See the world and see everything that it has in store and has to share but ultimately wherever you go and whatever you do you take you with you, you’re never alone. My events, my music can take me to a lonely place, from their inception to their conclusion, from the experience to the last chord, I am often alone in these times and through these processes. Ultimately I would like to think that these things work in bringing people together, certainly my events do, and I suppose through the music when it ultimately becomes a performance, when anyone bothers to turn up of course that is! Only joking - but seriously there is a point to what I do and I believe in having a purpose. I believe in other things and I know they are there and always there, call them god if you like, but whatever they are I don’t think there would be life without them or similarly perhaps they wouldn’t be there if it were not for life. How do you know what is cold if you do not have hot?
On work:
I work, hard, at lots of different things. I work to keep food on the table and a roof overhead. My events and music don’t pay as such, I do these because I am sad and don’t have a social life, (see above) only joking. My life is my work.
At the moment:
Artistically I am in a strange place. I’m not being very creative in terms of song-writing at the moment and haven’t been for a while which is unusual for me but am not worried about it. I’m not really performing with any bands at the moment which again is a bit unusual for me as I’m usually in a good half or dozen or so at any one time, but my focus has been on finishing an album that my main band Electric Sunroof have been working on over the last 7/8 months. I am hoping it will be received well. My life appears to be in flux at the moment I’m going through some things, I’m expecting great change in the near future, but all for the good. that brings me to the next point.....
On the future:
the future waits and quite often so do I. I’m trying to learn to move into the future instead of waiting for it to arrive and that can be difficult, you have to have a lot of confidence that what you are doing is the right thing or the balls to just take the risk anyway. I have more events coming up that I’m involved with later this year, in particular the Peace One Day events which I am instigating in our area. For those who don’t know there is an international day of peace on September the 21st of each year. I ran a single event to help promote that last year and this year am involved in helping put on a tour along the north Wales coast and into England. We've some great acts lined up for a great cause with a good message. This is something I feel strongly about and want to make happen. I don’t think you can be complacent and expect peace, and similarly I don’t think complacency is a positive energy particularly, and probably contributes to unrest as much as inappropriate action such as violence and war.
